Hi Everyone!
My name is Spike and I am almost 14 years old! I came to live with Mom and Dad when I was just a wee little kitten. The couple that had me didn't really know how to raise a little guy like me and one day I climbed a tree and couldn't GET DOWN!
Thank goodness Mom lived right next door and spent the day trying and eventually getting me down, and then taking me into her home (my folks left me in the tree as they had to "get to work"..Geesh!) Since then I have been with Mom & Dad!
When I got there I had company, Toopid, an older gal (now passed over the Rainbow Bridge 2 years ago at age 23 and MoonCat, who sadly was helped onto the Bridge 3 years ago at the age of 15 as a result of what the humans said was stomach cancer.
But during all these years I have have a lot of housemates.....
There was Curly, a grey tabby cat that unfortunately had both FIV and FELV, who was with us for 3 years, even though the Doc said he would only be staying 3 months. Curly was a trooper, I must say, he even liked going to the Docs! Mom says it was because he went there so often, he made friends. Curly made friends wherever he went and had a true fighting spirit to live ... I have always admired him for this. We think his spirit stayed with us for a few months (there was a shadow on the rug where he passed for about 3 months and Mom & Dad were always feeling a kitty brush up against them even though none of us were near).
As sick as we was ... Curly wanted to stay with us. But he finally took the last step over the bridge and I am sure he is happy playing with his friends Toopid & Moon & Monkey & Skinny.
As for Monkey and Skinny, they too were with us about 3 years each. Monkey was a little tiny girl with FELV who had a great sickness free life til a lung tumor made her sick, but she had 3 happy years with us! And Skinny who joined us after Mom started feeding him outside and decided to have him neutered (OUCH!) then took him in. Poor Skinny!! He had a really tough life before he came to live with us! Mom discovered he would run and cower whenever someone tried to step over him ( there were a lot of us to step over! ) and determined someone must of kicked him .....ALOT!! That would explain all his tummy troubles! Mom thinks Skinny may have went over because of something called a stroke (Maybe because some mean person kicked him alot ...maybe even his HEAD!) But even though he was very shy, Skinny told me he felt at peace with us and finally felt safe...
Soooo now... the recent years! (If you haven't already noticed, Mom has alot of Love to go around!) 2 years ago this May Mom & Dad took in a creature they call a "rabbit" (sort of a stumpy no tail cat with long ears.....who hops!)His name is Bugsy Siegel and he was abandoned in a empty lot next to our home. I really don't care much about him but he seems to have formed a attachment to me (perhaps as I am white and he is white with black spots)
Oh well!
The September after that my younger brother Apollo came to stay. He is adopted. Mom and Dad found him in the adoption center at PetsMart and he told me he gave Dad the "look" and that was that ! We animals have our ways LOL!
Cool with me ... he hangs more with Mom and I hang more with Dad.
But it doesn't end there!
Last January Tut came to live with us...abandoned as a baby in January here in NY is not nice!!! Dad's boss found him outside of one of her businesses and of course Mom & Dad were the first (and last!) ones asked to take him! You know already what their answer was!
But NOW!!!!
Mom has really went over the edge! She now works at PetsMart (coming home smelling like wet dog, Yeck!) She actually had the audacity to come home with a DOG!! Well...... more like puppy. Some folks found him in the park this January and he was only about 7 weeks old! Soooooo..... you know Mom!
He is now about 16 weeks old and weighs 30 pounds already! Tut & I have are paws full training him, but he is coming around! You can find his page at Dogster.com
That's it for now folks..thanks for visiting!
Spike

Pretty exciting (s0 Mom says). So I thought I would update you on whats happening around here now.
The sad news is that we lost our pal Bugsy last spring (Mom cried and cried) but we know he is playing over the Rainbow Bridge with our other pals and he at peace now.
The good? news is we have 2 new members of our family. Mom hasn't put them on Catster yet (something about cameras & film?). Their names are Cisco and Pancho and are adoption kitties that are brothers . They were returned to the adoption center after being there a long time soooo you know Mom & Dad...
And the puppy is no longer a puppy, he is a DOG!!! A big one! he tries to chase us!
And I scratch him on the nose when he gets on my nerves.
It is cold here in NY right now so I spend alot of time under the covers with Mom & Dad. So that means its all good and life is just fine with our big family!
