Below find part of my letter to AWAN ( Animal Welfare Adption Network) the wonderful folks who cared for me before Mom & Dad adopted me! I wanted to let them know how happy I am!

Dear Linda and All My Friends at AWAN: Feb. 1, 2004

Remember me? I used to be known as Bruce Lee, although my new name is Apollo. My mom is helping me write this letter to let you all know how I am doing in my new home with my new family. I really like it here a lot, it is very warm, there is always plenty of food and water, Mom and Dad don’t let us go outside where we might get hurt or sick. Of course what is best is the love from Mom and Dad and what is VERY best is Mom’s lap! Such a shame she sees the need to get up instead of sitting all day. Humans! Who can understand them?
I have brothers here also. There is a black goldfish who is called Othello, he doesn’t do too much but swim in his tank and eat, but he is fun to watch. I have a big brother named Spike who is 9 years old. We didn’t get along too well at first but now we are buddies and play together sometimes. He hangs out with Dad while I prefer Mom and that wonderful lap!
There is also a strange creature here they call Bugsy. At first I thought he was some kind of strange cat, but they say he is something called a “rabbit” . I try to avoid him as he is rather odd. He runs all over and then jumps about 3 feet straight up in the air, turns around and does it all over again. Definitely weird!
I am rather frightened of him but Mom & Dad don’t let him get near me. Besides, I can jump on the counter, Something that dumb old Bugs can’t do. At least I am better off than Spike, Bugsy is in LOVE with him. Thinks he’s his mother or father or something…….
Last but not least, last weekend I became a big brother when Dad brought home a baby kitten some mean people abandoned out in the cold weather. His name is Tut. Spike and I aren’t sure we like these babies very much… Always running and batting at you, hiding things. AND... just because my tail wags all the time he thinks it is a snake and is always jumping on it!!! Well, as hard as it is , I am trying to be tolerant. I remember what it was like being homeless and outside with no one to love me. Although
everyday I am here those bad days are harder to remember.
So that’s my new family (for now). As Mom says, “There’s always enough love to go around”
I want to thank you for rescuing me and finding me such a wonderful home. I hope all the other lucky dogs and cats you rescue are as happy as I am. I hope that someday humans will smarten up and take care of us the way they should. But then humans aren’t as bright as we are. You don’t see the furry, feathered and finned making war with each other do you?

With much Love and Thanks,
Apollo Lenart aka Bruce Lee

As Mom says ... Always enough love to go around!
Imagine my surprise when she came home with the creature they call a "Dog"!!!!
His name is Brutus and not sure how I feel about him so I keep chasing him to let him know who is Boss!
Sadly we lost Othello (the Black Moor goldfish) about a week after Brutus came to live with us. Not Brutus' fault,Othello was sick. Mom isn't doing fish again for awhile, she says she has her hands full with Brutus (ain't that the truth!)
But I know I am still Mommy's Boy so I can deal with the new guy!
