Arrival Story:
This sassy tabby used to nap on our roof and come in through the back door to eat our other two cats' food. She was sweet as pie to us, but kept the others at bay with a swipe of her claws. We named her Toaster (Toe-ster) because of her polydactyly. She kept coming around and kept eating the food, so when we got ready to move a couple of months later, we decided we'd make it official and take her with us, even though she hated the other two cats. She became Miss Tibbs after we moved.
Bio:
A few months later, the people who moved into our old house shared an unsigned letter they'd received from Miss Tibbs' previous owners. In it, they explained how "Kitty" hated living with a dog and had spent longer and longer stretches away from home, until they assumed she had gone for good. "We were very surprised when she came back to visit us wearing a new collar and nametag!" they wrote. Since they didn't list their address, we couldn't return her -- but we think she was happy to be away from her former home. She courted us, and we let her!
