Boudicca came to our house in Nov. 2009, just walked up out of nowhere. She was incredibly friendly and, at the time, sported a collar. We figured she was an indoor/outdoor cat, just exploring the neighborhood. But she kept coming back so we began to feed her. She was CLEARLY domesticated and really enjoyed us spending time with her while we fed her, so my husband & I did just that whenever we could.
In late Dec., we started getting REALLY cold weather in NC, plus snowstorms. The poor girl was OBVIOUSLY NOT USED to such conditions and, fearing she wouldn't survive on her own, my husband brought her into our basement. Also, our original resident "porch panther", Oliver, wasn't at all happy with an "interloper" on his patch & had beaten her up several times but ... she kept coming back. (She *is* named after a British warrior queen, after all!) For both reasons, we thought it best that she stay in the basement.
In 2011, we brought her up into the main house permanently with our other cats but Boudicca is VERY much "her own cat". WE ARE PLACING HER UP FOR ADOPTION NOW BECAUSE SHE IS REALLY AN "ALPHA FEMALE" AND NEEDS TO BE AN ONLY CAT. SHE & HER SISFUR, SELINA, DON'T GET ALONG & WE'VE TRIED EVERYTHING WE CAN TO FIX THE SITUATION BUT HAVE MADE THE DECISION THAT A HOME WHERE SHE IS "TOP CAT" IS REALLY THE BEST OPTION FOR HER HAPPINESS. SHE WILL MAKE SOMEONE A VERY HAPPY COMPANION!
Bio:
Boudicca is a WONDERFUL cat. She's super-friendly, loves people, loves to have affection given to her, follows you around EVERYWHERE and is a great supervisor, talking & chirping cheerfully with you on an on-going basis while you are doing most anything.
WE ARE PLACING HER UP FOR ADOPTION BECAUSE SHE IS REALLY AN "ALPHA FEMALE" AND NEEDS TO BE AN ONLY CAT. SHE WILL MAKE SOMEONE A VERY HAPPY COMPANION! DOGS & KIDS ARE OK, JUST NOT OTHER CATS! (Or at least other female cats - she seems to get along with our two boys, Sharif & Peppers, just fine!)

I agree with all my furramily members - Nutro has NO place advertising on Catster! Find a more reputable food producer - they are MANY of them!

I am Boudicca, named after a warrior queen that lived in Britain during the Roman Occupation of that country. She was really tough, courageous & resourceful and MomKatt says I'm just like her! MOL How flattering!
Anyway ... I'm living in the basement right now but I'm allowed to come upstairs on supervision. At heart? I'm really an only cat - MomKatt has 6 other kits, plus one outside (he doesn't like any cat prowling on HIS territory either, I discovered to my dismay) ... I don't like competition. MomKatt says she can relate, since she is an "only hooman child" - she wanted ALL the pets/treats/goodies! MOL
So I'm looking for a home where I can be the only spoiled feline in residence and get ALL the treats, ALL the noms and ALL the attention.
Won't someone adopt me SOON????
MomKatt & DadKatt will be willing to help w/my transport if it comes to that, as well. They are determined to find me a great home 'cause I'm a GREAT cat!
