Arrival Story:
Madison came from a woman who raised cats and fleas, though not necessarily in that order. Her home was so piled high with things, a narrow path led the way to the kitten area. As I sat on her sofa, fleas jumped from place to place. Opening a pet carrier, the woman pulled out a tiny eight week old kitten who complained heartily about being disturbed. He was a blue point siamese, the last remaining in a litter of five. His sister, a chocolate point, was adopted the night before. When the woman's husband entered the room, Madison's attention was riveted as he took out a pan and cooked some eggs. I noticed a large crack in the room's double pane window. Tape covered the crack on the inside of the window. I got the impression someone had hit, or thrown, an object at the window. When Madison came home, he was very suspicious and occasionally hostile towards men. I wondered if the man had done the damage to the window and frightened the kittens. Fortunately, as Madison matured, he grew out of his hostility and is now a gregarious, fearless and sweet guy.

Hi Friends!

My mother says I may have my own blog soon. I'm not sure if I want my own blog. Do you have a blog? What do you think? If I do get one, I may call it, " My Two Cents: The Life and Times of Madison."

The Bird

Having the plant here reminded me of an unwanted visitor last Summer. Sometimes the windows of our apartment slide down from the top and are hard to fix. It's funny watching my mother try to push them back up again! One day, when Mom was away, a BIRD climbed through the gap and entered our home. It was a starling covered in little speckles. It flapped around and frightened me very much. When my mom returned, she didn't know there was a bird hiding in the living room curtains. While she was typing on her computer, it suddenly flew by, and she saw it out the corner of her eye. She said, " What in the #%&@ was that? " At first, she thought it was a big bat heading for the kitchen. Then she realized it was only a bird. She ran and got a towel and started chasing the bird around the apartment until it got tired and she could catch it. My mom and the toweled bird went down the stairs heading for the tree in the yard. That was a very happy bird when it was let go! I was glad the bird was gone. I hope there are no more birds in our home. My mother said that for a cat I wasn't any help at all! Well, I was too busy superintending to help!

Hello My Fellow Cats and Their People,

There is now a picture posted of the plant and I. Though evil intentions seem imminent, I swear the last thought in my mind was knocking Walter over and smashing him to bits. Honest!
