*SPECIAL NEEDS: DIABETIC* Bean is a true survivor! She was abandoned at one of the local apartment complexes and a Good Samaritan reported seeing a small kitten, very emaciated but very friendly wandering around her apartment. When I came to see Bean, I found an extremely thin adult cat, not a kitten, although she was so skinny she looked like a kitten! Bean didn't even put up a struggle; I scooped her up in my arms and took her away to be fattened up and given adequate vet care. From the start, she was extremely affectionate and showed no signs of being in pain, although she absolutely had to be suffering. Now, Bean is double the size she was when I found her and her attitude is still as personable! Bean loves to sit and look out the windows. She gets along with calm, mellow dogs. She gets along fine with other cats but she usually hangs out a lot by herself. Bean is a very independent cat but quite loving. She would be happy to be an only pet but would be fine in a house with other pets as long as they don't insist on constantly playing with her.

Bio:
Bean has been spayed, rabies vaccinated, FIV/FLV test negative, first distemper vaccinated, deflead, dewormed. Her special need is that Bean is diabetic. This means she has to have insulin shots every day and a high protein diet. Her stress should be kept to a minimum as to not irritate her diabetes.
