Arrival Story: About a year after my sweet Sally crossed the bridge, I was "just looking" at adoptable kitties on Petfinder. I came across Leo, Charlie's brother, and just fell in love. After some emails with the rescue organization, I went down to Tucson to meet Leo. Charlie was also there and the family that was going to adopt him had fallen through. He was adorable (of course) and I couldn't stand to separate them and leave Charlie behind. With lots of thought (and some support from Catster friends!) I made the decision to adopt Leo AND Charlie. They came home on June 13th, 2009.
Bio: When Charlie and Leo were about 2-3 weeks old, someone brought them into a vet's office in a shoebox. The vet couldn't take them and the person was headed to a local kill shelter to drop them off. A woman in the vet's waiting room offered to take them. She bottle fed them for 3 weeks and then they were taken in by their foster mother who provided loving care until they were ready to be adopted and come home with me!

My mom says I'm a drama queen. Here's the story: The downstairs bathroom dooe is always closed. The very first time I made my way into that room, I never wanted to leave! Mommy tried to shoo me out of there so I ran behind the toilet. She then had to reach back there to help me out. I always mewed and tried to bite her hand. But she still made me come out! This has been happening for months! Anytime mommy opens that door, I run right in. I've even slipped in there when she wasn't looking and got stuck in there!
Now when I run in there and hide behind the toilet, mommy doesn't have to reach for me anymore. She just says, " Come on, Charlie. Come on, buddy, let's go!" I usually mew my irritation and displeasure at her and then run out of the room. I rarely bite her anymore (mom's edit: thank goodness!) but I do put up a loud fuss about it! Sometimes I pretend like I'm going to lunge at her but then I just keep running out the door.
Today when Mommy tried to shoo me out of the downstairs bathroom, I looked at her and gave her my most annoyed "Meow!" Mommy was leaning her head down towards me and her long hair was just dangling there, asking for attention. So I meowed again and started to run out the door. Then I stopped, jumped a couple of feet up into the air, and gave Mommy's dangling hair a double smacky paw! And then I ran out of the bathroom, mewing at her!
Geez, I just can't seem to figure my sistercat out. One minute Lucy's twitching her tail at me and inviting me to play with her. The next minute she's growling and smacking me in the head. Tonight, she ran up and bopped me and then ran away. She stopped on the landing and looked at me, twitching her tail. Invitation to play, right?
Wrong. I tried to play and she growled at me. Then she smacked me and ran down the stairs and jumped on to a cat tree. I followed her. She growled. I circled her. She growled. I mewed and cried a little and then walked away. What did Lucy do next? She wrapped herself around the cat tree and started bunny kicking! Invitation to play, right?
Wrong. I tried to play again. She growled and smacked me. I just can't figure her out!
Oh, and an hour ago? We were curled up together, snoozing. I had my head resting on her bottom and all was well with the world!
Guess what? Samoa has named me as Dreamboat-in-training #3! She named Leo as a Dreamboat-in-training, too! I'm so excited and couldn't wait to meow to Lucy about it! But Lucy wasn't all that impressed. I guess I'm less dreamy because I'm her brother?!
Thanks Samoa! I wasn't all that surprised to see Leo chosen; he is, after all, a floofy little lovebug. But it's nice to see that Samoa could see the dreamyboatness of a feisty little tough guy like me!
