Gentle Ben’s name might be Gentle Ben, but uh, take a look — Gentle Ben is missing an ear! You should have seen the other guy!
Okay, no, not really. The folks at the shelter who took Gentle Ben in think it was actually frostbite that nipped off the kitty’s ear. But according to his Facebook page, Ben will never tell.
So, a black cat with a missing ear is kind of not the best candidate for adoption. And, to be honest, Gentle Ben wasn’t exactly the cat his human friend was looking for.
Ben’s Petfinder page accidentally listed him as a senior cat and she was looking for an older kitty to be a companion for the cat she already had. Upon arriving at the shelter, they showed her an orange cat, and she was confused because the Petfinder profile was for a black cat. But then Gentle Ben wasn’t as old as she thought he was going to be and then ÔǪ well, long story short, Gentle Ben got a forever home quicker than anyone thought he would.
Gentle Ben is particularly fond of Halloween — because it’s his birthday! So that means it’s coming right up! And he won’t even need a costume — that ear is a pretty good costume piece!
