In a world where we do most of our communicating from behind various screens, there’s a lot to be said for someone who can clearly and directly state what she wants. I’m more likely to sit and stew when something is bothering me, possibly telling my “friends” about it via a vaguely bitchy Facebook status or a cat meme that’s equal parts clever and sad. It almost never achieves the desired effect.
Perhaps I need to take a lesson from these cats, who boldly demand to be petted, fed, or amused — and often get exactly what they want.
The cats in this complication are desperate for affection, and they honestly don’t care whether you’re busy right now. I especially love the manipulative kitty who has transformed his human into an intrepid multitasker who can pet his cat and play guitar simultaneously.
While begging for breakfast, this ridiculously adorable cat has all but learned to clasp his paws together and say please. Such a skill is dangerous; I could never, ever say no to this guy.
This kitty got some help translating her insistent pleas for treats from meows to English — though somehow, I suspect her human got it right. (Take note: The answer is always YASSS.)
While his human sleeps like the dead, this big orange tabby waits patiently for him to get up and play. I really appreciate the camerawoman’s encouragement: “Keep staring at him. You’re doing good.”
When Rudiger the “battle cat” encounters a four-foot snowdrift outside his front door, the tenacious tabby does what any self-respecting explorer would do: He starts digging. Just a reminder that in addition to telling people what you want, getting it involves a lot of hard work.
