Last week I had the most amazing opportunity — I got to pet and play with a baby tiger!
His name was Jiruani and he is almost three months old. He has his sister were rejected by their mom, and McCarthy’s Wildlife Sanctuary was asked if they could take them in and care for them. They’ve been bottle feeding them and raising to be big and strong.
Don’t worry, this isn’t a place where they “own” exotic animals; it’s a great place where they rehabilitate injured wildlife and take in exotic animals that have been confiscated because people had them illegally as pets or they were in ill care. It was such a nice, clean, well-cared for place, and you could really tell they loved the animals!
Last week was the last week they were allowing Juruani and his stripey sister outside human contact (so they could grow up to be real tigers), and I was lucky enough to get to go! It was absolutely amazing, and they were so cute!
