Tocket the cat nurses her adopted bassett brood in Wadena, Minnesota. The 4 1/2-month-old cat lost her kittens Feb. 10. The pups were born a few days later and their own mother did not have milk for them. Tocket took over nursing duties, making it a happy ending for all concerned. (Although a true happy ending would involve having Tocket spayed. No cat should be having kittens at 4-1/2 months of age.)
