after i was spayed they noticed the small bump (when i was shaved). told me it was a hernia but it wasn't bad enough to get surgery on. it has never bothered me or gotten bigger.

hmm.. if he's laying in it i would be worried about the crystals. when MrB was staying in the litter it ended up being cancer in his bladder and having the feeling of needing to pee constantly.

i would take him to the vet again.

i would remove his back leg. there isn't any reason for him to have it if it isn't working. he's still young enough that he'll adjust to it and be able to do anything a 4 legged cat can. its more inhumane to make him keep it.

MrB had his back leg removed at age 15 (due to cancer in his foot). he lived a happy 4/5 more years. he still would run and play. he could get in/out of the litter on his own and off any furniture we put him up on. with him being so old though, he couldn't jump up on the furniture.

its a hard thing to do in any case but there are other 3 leggers out there that would tell you to do the same. especially at 8 months. he'll be able to do anything smile

has he been treated for worms? kittens always have worms when they are little and must always be treated. if so, go to your local pet store and try buying Petromalt. helps with hairballs and/or constipation. he may also be eating to fast. if he's eating dry put some golf ball size balls in the food so he has to take his time and eat around them smile

could be the quality of the food. what type does he eat? shouldn't be any grains/animal by products in it.

if these things don't help, you might want to try the vet.

today mom was cutting a knot out of my fur and she cut me. it didn't bleed and isn't very deep. i didn't meow or howl, just jumped when it happened. afterwards i jumped off the kitchen table and wanted to play. i ate and drank too. plus, been jumping on things. mom's worried because its right behind my front leg. in a fleshy fatty area.

since i'm acting fine, do you think its necessary to take me to the scarey vet? mom would compare it to a non bleeding knife cut(like what happens if you cut yourself cutting up veggies). should she just watch for signs of pain/infection?
