What do you get when you mix cat breading with pillow pets? The cuddliest new trend since, well, sliced bread! BreadCats are plush loaves (or slices) fashioned to have kitty features such as ears and whiskers. They come in a range of yummy “flavors” like Banana and Cinnamon Swirl.

BreadCats are the creation of Atlanta-based artist Burge Wallick (aka Sew Cute Sweets), who first came up with the idea of the real life kitty loaves in 2010. Wallick hand-sews each tasty design, and has expanded the collection to include pillow slices, plus a Pita BreadCat purse! There are even plans to spin off the popular plush into a line of home decor to help catify your kitchen, too.

Legend has it that BreadCats origins go back to a “faraway bakery” and its elderly owner. Before the baker passed away, she entrusted all of her belongings to her beloved rescue cats. With the help of a little magic, and one particular cat named Allie, the very first BreadCat named Toasty was born.
