When you think of cat-loving celebrity musicians, probably the first person who comes to mind is Katy Perry, who launched a perfume named after her beloved Maine Coon, Kitty Purry. If you've been reading Kitty News Network for a while, you may remember a story about country singer Jimmy White and the song he wrote about a cat who changed his life.

I recently found out about a couple more award-winning musicians who are completely unashamed of their love for their feline companions, too.

Country singer Taylor Swift also has a famous feline. In early November of last year, she bought herself a tabby-and-white Scottish Fold kitten, Meredith, whose photo she immediately shared through her Twitter and Instagram accounts. Katy Perry herself responded to Swift's photo with a squee-filled tweet: "OH MY GOSH. Is this kitty for real?!?!"

Meredith must have brought Swift some great karma, because the 21-year-old phenom was named Entertainer of the Year — for the second time — at the 2011 Country Music Awards.

But when it comes to unexpected cat lovers, the prize goes to Grammy-winning R&B singer Cee Lo Green, who I first heard of through his viral video single, "F--- You" (totally obvious warning: NSFW!), which was later sanitized for radio airplay and renamed "Forget You," at which point pop stations all across the U.S. played it right to death.

Green is one of the coaches on the NBC show The Voice, and in a recent interview he was seen backstage petting his glorious white Persian, who is aptly named Purrfect.

Purrfect has his own Twitter account, which has almost 22,000 followers! I guess Green is a pretty devoted secretary to take time out of his incredibly busy schedule to help Purrfect share his observations with the world.

Do you know of other cat-loving celebrities — beyond the obvious ones like Jackson Galaxy, host of Animal Planet's show My Cat from Hell?
