A tiger is not a housecat, but housecats and tigers are related, so this video still counts.
Bounding from couch cushion to couch cushion, this darling tiger cub reminds us an awful lot of our cats at home, who are capable of being entertained for hours with an errant scrap of cardboard. So if there’s any doubt cats and tigers are really distantly related, banish the thought! Here’s proof that they share similar DNA.
We think the tiger cub might be an orphan who’s spending time in a human household until he is old enough to join grown-up tigers in a sanctuary. For now, the tiger’s only playmate is a particularly brave Chihuahua, who happily engages the tiger cub in some rambunctious play fighting. The Chihuahua is safe for now, as the two are sort of the same weight, but once that cub is an adult, that Chihuahua will become the size of a tater tot to him.
For now they’re cute play partners who don’t seem to care about their differences. Even though the tiger cub has several pounds on the dog, he is gentle enough to leave the pup unscathed. If only we could all learn to play as nicely together.
