Cat Makes Himself the News -- by Jumping on a Reporter's Back

This cute cat gets his burst of fame when he launches himself onto a shoulder during a live broadcast.

As a TV reporter was on location talking about beating the summer heat, a stray kitty decided to insert his own opinion. Hey, everybody's gotta have his or her 15 minutes of fame, right? This kitty was direct about it and hopped onto the reporter's back. Camera shy? Not at all!

Though a little shocked, reporter Nicole DiDonato kept her cool like a pro. Turns out she's no stranger to cats -- she has two rescued cats at home. That must be why this cat was comfortable affectionately climbing onto her back, and that also why DiDonato could take it in stride.

Apparently a commenter on the story wrote to the station and found out that the kitty in the video already has a home -- no wonder he was so friendly. No one knows why the cat was out and about -- maybe he got locked out of the house and this was his way of reaching his humans, as if to say, "Hey! Let me back in!" We know plenty of kitties who've snuck out of the house only to end up accidentally locked out, but we don't know any cats who've used live television to get back in.
