Cats are the best at giving little gifts and doing little things to show they love you, aren’t they? This week alone, my two kitties showered me with three delightful reminders of their love for me.
1. A hairball. Pimp worked on this one off and on for about an hour. He wanted to make sure he did it right, and his persistence paid off. Ten paper towels, two rounds of carpet cleaner and a few minutes of scrubbing later, his gift was placed in the garbage can. For safe keeping, of course.
2. Poopie paw prints on my clean shirt. Clothes that have to “lay flat to dry” were not designed for people with cats. If I lay out a shirt, it’s just asking for it. I think it’s Cat Rule #47 (I could be a little off with the number) that any clothes laid out, either the night before in planning what to wear tomorrow or to dry after being washed, must be stepped across and sat on by a cat.
3. A scratch on the forehead. Moo is such a delight when it’s time to make the bed. He is the ultimate sheet monster. When he does this, I always think he’s just so darn cute and lean in to deposit a smooch on his nose. This time, he wasn’t feeling very smoochy and promptly deposited a scratch in the middle of my forehead. Pretty!
What did your kitties give you this week?
