“Happy Endings is a 501(c)3 non-profit, no kill organization that has been in existence since 1994. It is run solely by volunteers. Our mission is to find permanent homes for strays, abused or unwanted animals that are either brought in to us or rescued off the street. Happy Endings provides a safe haven for all cats, including; feral, stray, abused, neglected and or critically injured animals. We nurse those who are sick back to health and provide a home for all animals until they are ready to be adopted. No animal is ever euthanized by Happy Endings for convenience sake, but, only when, in a veterinarian's professional opinion is in a state of terminal suffering.
Since Happy Endings is run only by the goodness of people; volunteers are ALWAYS needed. Please stop in the shelter or call our hotline if you love cats and wish to help out the local strays.
Our adoption fees are $85 for one cat or kitten and $130 for two cats or kittens. The adoption fee includes various procedures which have already been performed, such as:
- Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus tests
- Distemper Shots
- Rabies Booster (Good for 1 year from date given)
- Preventative Dewormer
- Spay or Neuter procedure for every cat that is at least 8 months or older
In the case of the adoption of kittens, there is one rule that is in effect. Kittens must go in pairs if there are no other CATS in the home. Dogs, birds, kids or other people do not count.
Note: Under no circumstances do any of the cats at Happy Endings leave the shelter on the same day that they get signed up for. We deliver all our cats to their potential homes. The whole process will be explained at the time of sign up.

Happy Endings - Cats A Plenty!Happy Endings is a wonderful facility. Perhaps not as big as they want to be, but great none the less. Their cats are more than great. They are very healthy, clean and sweet. Not only is Happy Endings a cat shelter, but also a sanctuary as well. They are the only no-kill shelter in the Milwaukee area and will keep their cats, no matter what illness, treat them and then adopt them out UNLESS the vet says it's best to put them to sleep. There are a few there that if taken to a "humane" society, the cats would be deemed unadoptable and put down. But at Happy Endings, they will live happy lives until their "purrfect" home comes along. Isn't that just grrrreat? So, if you're looking for a cat and want to go to a place with happy volunteers that care about each and every cat that comes through that door and is eager to place them all into homes, and if you want to help out a shelter that isn't in it for the money but for the health & welfare of their animals, then come here!
