Best of Seattle
Magnuson is without a doubt, the best dog park in Seattle. It has an area to rinse muddy dogs off, 2 areas with clean water & bowls, tons of poop bag stations & garbage cans, a fully fened small dog area, multiple wide open spaces, and the only dog allowed beach in the city! It is fully fenced with I think about 4.5 ft to 6 ft in some areas, fencing- tall enough for almost all dogs (Ive only ever seen 1 dog jump out), and has double gated entries. It is large enough for the amount of dogs, and is layed out in a way that it is easy to move away from dogs that may not play well together. Most people who come are knowledgable, and I think the community of people who use the park do a good job of educating people engaing in inappropriate behavior. I dont think there can ever be a perfect park, (I still occasionally see: small dogs not in the small dog area, scared dogs who probably shouldnt be there, pushy dogs not being monitored appropriately, small kids not being attended well, etc) but this one comes pretty darn close. It is the *only* dog park in Seattle that I go to.
ALWAYS A GOOD TIME!
This was the first park we took Dewey to about a week after we got him. He now LOVES coming here and playing in the water.
I LOVE THIS PARK!!
We went here for the first time yesterday 7.26.07 and OMD!! What a park - the best one we have been too. It's about 30 miles from our house but well worth the drive. I have not been to a dog park quite like it. I spent the hole time in the water!!
