The Manassas Adoption Center is a temporary home for the abandoned, unwanted, stray, and homeless animals found in the City of Manassas. Our goal is to reunite stray pets with their owners and place unwanted animals in loving homes with pet owners that are educated and responsible. The Animal Control Services Division maintains the health, safety, and welfare of the community through timely response to citizen calls for service and through proactive measures to control the spread of rabies; achieves compliance of the animal care and control ordinances through education and enhanced enforcement efforts. The City's Animal Control Services Division also strives to assist citizens with the proper tools and information to become more responsible pet owners. Animal Control Officers (ACO's) respond to investigate reports of animal abuse, neglect, nuisance animals, dangerous animals, and bites involving domestic animals and wildlife.

Northern Virginia Animal League (NVAL) is an all volunteer, not for profit, 501- c (3) cat rescue organization. NVAL does not have a shelter, therefore we do NOT take give- ups. The cats in our care are housed in various foster homes in and around the Manassas area. NVAL rescues abandoned and stray cats. If the rescues can be socialized, they are placed for adoption. Cats that are not socialized are spayed or neutered, then offered as barn cats or returned to their colonies. All cats remain in our care until they are placed. We do not euthanize unless deemed medically necessary. NVAL is looking for permanent (15 - 20 years) homes for the cats and kittens we place. Adopters must agree to provide regular veterinary care, love and a safe environment. Most cats weighing over 2 lbs. are spayed/neutered before placement, regardless of age. We enforce a strict spay/neuter policy on kittens placed unaltered.

We specialize in rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing dachshunds and mostly dachshund mixes. All dogs are vetted as described on our home page www.drna.org and are placed at our standardized adoption fee. The fee is: puppy up to 1 year old = $350 1 year to 10 years = $250 Over 10 years or with a chronic medical condition = $135. We are an all volunteer organization and we do not maintain a facility.
