“long, long park with stream”
One of the best dog parks in VA/DC/MD areaThis place is great for dogs who love to swim and play with other dogs and run around (more like back and forth) the long stretch of dog park. It's all fenced off so if your dog goes running off after another dog, you don't have to panick thinking he'll get loose somewhere. The creek has shallow and deep ends, it's pretty long, so you can pick and choose where you want them to play. The water is not the cleanest, but hey, it's a body of water they can 'safely' play! =) There's also lots of rocks so my dog loved jumping around them and running up and down the rock steps. There's lots of mosquitos during the summer, so I definitely suggest to bring bug repellent spray. I went a few days ago and got bit 23 times, I counted them! They provide doggie bags, but I didn't see any drinking water, I could have missed it. Parking is a bit unusual, I had a hard time finding the entrance, but I think there's a few places you can enter. I happened to make a right turn into a little alley hoping that it would lead to the park, and it ended up leading to one of the entries. I parked in the alley and didn't see any no parking signs and didn't get a ticket, so I think you can park there. But don't get me wrong, it was WELL worth the mosquito bites and the little parking confusion! Roscoe was having the time of his life! Jumping up and down like a grasshopper in the creek and chasing friends up and down the park and dipping into the water then dashing back up the steps then greeting another friend then chasing another... good times! posted: July 23rd, 20081 pet found this review helpful |
First Dog Park in VAGreat place to meet new doggie friends and go swimming. There is a fenced between the path and the water in case you don't want to get wet. Very impressed with the park. |
BEST park everI get to be off leash, I get to swim (but if my mom doesn't want me to swim she has the option of keeping me gated away from the stream), i get to meet other dogs....My mom likes this park because it's fenced in so she knows I'm safe as I run around and meet new friends. I LOVE THIS PARK. I'm always exhausted after a trip to this park. |
