His widow Mrs. Edith Johnson operated the clinic from his passing until September 1, 2011 when the clinic was purchased by Dr. Clint Powell. Dr. Powell strives to continue Dr. Johnson’s legacy by serving our clients and their pets with the compassionate and valuable care they deserve. Please read more about our hospital and call today to schedule an appointment.”

New vet - outstanding service

I was saddened deeply when Dr Johnson died in 2010. The interim doctors left much to be desired but then Dr Powell bought the business in the fall of 2011 and I am thrilled beyond words. He is extremely personable, he genuinely sincerely cares about his patients and their humans and goes out of his way to keep you informed. My dog was close to dying and he stayed on top of it with aggressive treatment, keeping me up to date and reassured and today I have my healthy dog back. His staff is also very pleasant and helpful. I thank God that Dr Powell came into our lives when he did and hope others will give him a try. You'll not be disappointed. The office, by the way, is a comfortable, old fashioned type one that I like - not fancy by any means - and his rates are reasonable. Please check him out.

Dr. Johnson

I have a military background and to me, being efficient with my time and money and being able to look at my new rescue pup, know what's wrong and fix it over night without charging me near as much as other vets makes him a perfect 5/5 in my book! I never had him clip my dog's nails because he was so busy with real medical care, I left bathing and trimming up to the groomer. He saved more than one of my rescue dogs and if I could, I'd drive hours if that's what it took to still have him as my vet.

If you want a show, go to the movies. If you want a good Vet go to Doc Johnson

Why someone would take their dog to the vet to get their nails clipped, I'll never know but the entire staff at Acorn Hill is great. No, doc won't put on a dog and pony show for you but he will treat your pet and is extremely knowledgable and up to date on veterinary medicine. He is not at all rough or unkind and will stop the procedure to let the animal settle down. He takes walk ins (atleast on the weekends) and the wait is never long (atleast if he's not doing someones nails. I hope they don't take them to the groomer's to get shots!).
