“This park is located next to the Metro Park and Ride on Maxey Rd. This is a large dog park with a human park next door. It is triple gated and fenced with pick up bags. There are large and small dog areas and combined human/doggie water fountains, doggie cool off showers, shade trees and a human porta potty. ”
Run...Run!Mom ...Has to watch me close when I'm running around cuz they don't have it fence off in some areas. |
Not the bestMe and my brother only visited this park once and mommy said "never again!" The park is very nice and lots of room for us to run and play with lots of large shade trees. However, towards the rear of the park is a tree line and me and Conner took off for that tree line and we wouldn't come when mommy called us back. She was worried, so she went after us and we ran past the tree line into a separate open area that is not seen from the front of the park. There was a BIG drainage opening back there that me and Conner was heading toward and mommy screamed at us really loud to STOP. She scared us, so we did and she leashed us immediately. The big drainage hole had a grate covering it, but a small dog like me could easily have slipped through the openings. Mommy took a picture of it with Conner standing near it, to show how big the openings were and even a large dog could have injured himself if he fell through it. Needless to say, we left immediately :-( Mommy did write to the dog park commission with her concerns and sent them the pictures she took. They wrote back and agreed that the grate openings were rather large and assured her that they would remedy the problem, however, we have not been back to that park to see if they did or not. Other than that one scary moment, it was a nice park and plenty big. If you go, just be careful if you decide to run past the tree line. posted: February 22nd, 20071 pet found this review helpful |
