“Operation Kindness is the largest and oldest 'no-kill' animal shelter in North Texas. They care for all the animals in their care (cats and dogs) until they are adopted. They provide provide valuable information on their website to assist the prospective pet owner or existing pet owner. They are a non-profit organization so donations are always welcome. I have been a volunteer for over 2 years and enjoy being a part of helping loving cats and dogs find loving homes.”

Helped me find a forever home -- and microchipped me later.

I came here after my people couldn't take care of me anymore. I was well-taken care of and several years after going home with my new Dad, they brought me by for a visit to get microchipped. My family is enthusiastic about the work OK does!

Didn't keep their promise

My Man went there to find a new forever friend. All the kittens had sniffles and coughs. But he found a sweet kitty he wanted to take home. But they wouldn't let him take her becuz she had a cold and needed to be spayed. They said once she finished her medicine and got spayed on the 1st she could go home. They took his name and number too. Then they called on the 29th and said "Sorry, we adopted her out to someone else." WHAT??? Man, my people are the kind of adopters shelters wish they had more of. They don't declaw, they don't have kids and they believe in forever homes. I was pampered my whole life. Operation Kindness screwed up big time. I'm glad they are there to help the animals, but they have lots of room for improvement!

One of the Best Shelters I have ever Seen!

Operation Kindness is what all animal shelters should stive to be. The cat rooms are large with big windows. The dogs are kenneled in large runs with a play area outside. They are involved in the community and address issues regarding animal abuse and take in animal that need extensive treatments....and they get the treatments done. I can't say enough good things about them....
