Non-Breeding: It is understood that if not already done, this dog will be neutered or spayed as soon as possible, in accordance with a veterinarians age recommendation. 2. Transfer of Ownership: This dog will not be transferred to any other person by the adopter. IF FOR ANY REASON THE ADOPTION IS NOT SATISFACTORY, THE DOG WILL BE RETURNED TO RESCUE 3. Health: The dog will be placed on an inoculation program as prescribed by a licensed veterinarian in order to assure and maintain the health of the dog. The dog will receive a rabies vaccination and be licensed in accordance with state and local ordinances. The dog will be tested for heartworm and heartworm preventative will be administered as prescribed by a veterinarian. 4. Control: The dog will not be allowed to run loose in unfenced areas except in controlled sporting events or dog parks. The dog will be under voice control at all times. 5. Care: Care and feeding instructions are part of this agreement. The undersigned adopter accepts full responsibility for maintaining a reasonable level of care for this dog, including food, water, grooming, sanitation, exercise, and safety. 6. Housing: it is understood and agreed that this dog has been adopted as an indoor dog. Failure to keep the dog living indoors with the family will result in the removal of the dog from the home. ********************************** *************************** ********************************** *************************** ********************************** ************************************************************* The Pet's Bill of Rights 1. We have the right to have fun. We enjoy acting like clowns now & then; don't expect us to be predictable all the time. 5. We have the right to quality health care. Please stay good friends with our vet! 6. We have the right to a good diet. Like some people, we don't know what's best for us. We depend on you. 7. We have the right not to be rejected because of your expectations that we be great show dogs or show cats, watchdogs, hunters, or baby-sitters. 8. We have the right to receive proper training. Otherwise, our good relationship could be marred by confusion and strife - & we could be come dangerous to ourselves & others. 9. We have the right to guidance & correction based on understanding & compassion, rather than abuse. 10. We have the right to live with dignity...& to die with dignity when the time comes.”
