Happy Paws Happy Homes is NOT a rescue or a shelter. Rather, our organization serves as a liaison between rescues, shelters, the public, and DOGS! We believe that every dog deserves a home where their needs are met and hope that one day soon, EVERY dog will have his day. We are a registered business in the state of Pennsylvania and received our 501(c)3 status in September 2005. * We offer educational programs to schools and community organizations about responsible pet care, spay/neuter, and the adoption option. * We provide no-cost consulting services to adopters and potential adopters about animal care and behavior. * We provide transportation for animals to and from shelters, rescues, homes, adoption events, and veterinary visits. * We conduct adoption follow-up visits/calls. * We provide the ideas and manpower to begin and sustain innovative programs that will enhance the lives of shelter animals, such as spay/neuter programs. * We maintain local shelter websites and other forms of adoption advertising. * We provide pre-adoption counseling to match families with the right dogs for their lifestyle. * When funds are available, we cover veterinary costs for shelter animals who need special treatment. Many of these animals come fully-vaccinated, altered, or the alter surgery is included in the adoption fee.
