Rescue Organizations PO Box 19 Apollo, PA 15613 Kiski Valley Cat & Kitten Rescue is a no-kill cat shelter that became a Pennsylvania not-for-profit corporation in 2000. Also in 2000, we acquired the use of several acres of land with three buildings for the beginnings of a shelter. The buildings were in need of repairs and some needed windows. Work was nearly complete only to have a storm tear the roof off one building. Once again repaired, we moved the cats in. The building interiors were finished and propane heaters installed in each building to keep the cats snug and warm. We also added fencing between the buildings and cat doors so that the cats have access to totally enclosed outdoor patios. We have tried to create a pleasant environment as they await their forever homes. A long-term goal for the shelter is to add fencing around the perimeter of the grounds and a barn so that some of the feral cats that find their way here could live outside on the grounds. We've found that some cats that are used to living outside are better off left outside as they can become anorexic with the stress of being brought inside
