“Editorial Review for Goodale Park – by Bill McComb The Grounds Picnic under the sun or, if it's raining, under the open picnic shelter. Check out the wedding gazebo; this fantastic structure is the perfect site for an urban wedding. Kids will love this park, not only for its wide-open areas, but also for its modern playground equipment. The activity-minded will enjoy Goodale's tennis and basketball courts. On the edge, a stocked pond provides tranquility to an already relaxing environment. Local Events Goodale Park is also one of the sites for the Music in the Air series and is the home of the Community Festival. This popular annual gathering allows the community to celebrate its diversity through an array of street vendors and artistic performances. ”
Goodale is Great!!I love playing here!! All the dogs and thier owners are awesome and I love to chase squirrels here as well. There are some new rules posted and some new changes for us, but they are posted. You have to bring your own water and the bathrooms aren't great for humans, but that's why we can go outside and you humans go before we leave. The North Market is about 2 blocks to the south, and sometimes we stop there for a snack or bite to eat and bring it back to park. Great times to visit are between 9-11 am on weekdays and 4:30 to 5:30. Weekends are also good in the late morning. Hope to see you there, I am the smiling terrier and I will say "HI". |
We love Goodale Park!We go every day - twice if we're lucky. There's plenty of room to play frisbee and stretch our legs, it's the happiest place in the world! Some notes for anyone thinking of playing here. There are no fences, so you need voice control over your dogs. There is a pond, but I don not recommend allowing your dog anywhere close - the algae looks a bit scary most of the time. This is a municipal park, not a dog park - so better manners are needed here. Some people who share the park don't enjoy dogs, so make sure you're respectful of that. The busiest dog times are right after work and on beautiful summer afternoons - I usually try and avoid those if I can. If you see us, please say hello! |
Love, love LOVE this park!I go here with my mom when we are at work in Victorian Village/Short North. Lots of other dogs to meet, friendly neighbors, lots of yummy smells with the pond and trees. |
