Used to be the Best

Dr. Luger used to be the best cat doctor in New York. Maybe anywhere. In the four years it took me to catch on that he was losing it, he misdiagnosed at least 5 cats that I know of, refused to be questioned and blamed me when his therapy didn't work, and did some really disturbing things that made me stop going there. He used an enormous needle once to take blood from a 4-week old kitten. The needle was in the vain and visible all the way up her leg, poor thing, while she screamed in agony. I had to leave the room. Don't tell me he didn't have a smaller needle there he could have used. I have a needle right here for my diabetic cat that's 1/5 of that size. I once saw him use a rectal thermometer big enough for a horse on a day old infant while it screamed. Come on, this is a cat hospital, for chrissakes. He doesn't have a cat sized thermometer? His associate, Dr. Tuzio, is nasty and superior, his officer manager Barbara is a nightmare, and Heidi can't get a message straight to save her life. Luger was always chilly and wierd, but for many years he was the best, so you tolerated the rest of it. I miss having a vet I trust.

Wonderful Cat Healthcare!

My Lanzia has been a patient of this hospital for all of her 16 years. They took very good care of her, right down to the end. Our favorite vet at the hospital is Dr. Tuzio. Aside from being an excellent doctor, Tuzio's bedside manner is wonderful. She truly cares for all of her patients as if they were her own cats. I whole heartedly recommend this hospital, which offers excellent full service veterinary care, emergency care, immunizations, and surgery, all especially for cats. It is a very "cat friendly" environment, and they even have their own darling "resident cats," who live at the hospital and seem to consider themselves part of the medical staff! For those of you who travel, the cat hospital also has a feline "inn." I also just want to add that Tuzio is the only Dr. at the hospital I see, as I do not like the bedside manner of the other two, and for that I give it 4 out of 5 stars, but it is still an excellent facility.
