They took me in when I no other place to go!!

Well, I was adopted from BARC 9 years ago and now live in CA. Thanks to BARC, I did find a home and was not "put down" before that happened. The people there treated me very well during my long stay (6mos?) and gave me a chance at a new life. Thank you for everything.

Diamonds in the rough

I will always love BARC and donate to them every year for the great work they do. It's a no-kill shelter so they often rescue cats and dogs on death row in the kill shelters in the city. For this reason i think they have some very special kitties that might not seem perfect at first site, but upon volunteering and visiting many times i fell completely in love with and adopted Phil, who was one of these rescued kitties and he has flourished into the most amazing friend. Having him wouldn't be possible with the wonderful volunteers who love and socialize each and every cat there. There are also many local strayed and given up kitties who are very sweet and need loving homes as well. Even if someone never finds a furever home, they have food, love, and shelter always at BARC. I found their experienced volunteers were happy to answer some tough questions we had about poor Phil, they really know each and every one of their cats and love them dearly. I'm kind of afriad to start volunteering again because I might end up with another kitty!

Mom Thinks They Are Great!

Mom buys food for my sister because she has to eat special stuff that I always try to eat as well...and the people there rescue animals and don't "put them down." I'm not sure what that means, but Mom makes a face when she says it, so that must be something bad. She says it's a place that she makes sure to donate to every year. They will let you buy heartworm medicine by the dose. The only thing Mom says that they could improve is that sometimes the people are a bit rude, even though she's been going there to shop for years, but that could be that they are SO super busy.
