“This a store where i come from. They carry a large selection of toy breeds.”
All Puppies from Puppy Mills with DiseasesDon't not be fooled by the positive reviews below. They are all written my the owners to fool and con the public. All these puppies for sale in the Puppy Boutique in Brooklyn come from puppy mills. All these puppies have congenital and hereditary diseases. Most of them will die within a few months. In research the unfortunate families who purchased puppies from this store had the heartache of losing their puppy while others were faced with medical bills as up to $8000 to save their puppy. Most of the people I spoke to that experienced the above were devastated when the store and owner Stuart refused to stand by the "Store Guarantee" and Contract when they purchased their new puppy. They refused to pay the medical bills even though the contracts and store guarantee assured all the buyers that these puppies were in good health. The whole thing is a scam. Dont be fooled by this store. A Staten Island woman purchased a yorkie from the store and the yorkie died within a few months. The store refused to pay for any medical bills while the dog was diagnosed with a hereditary disease. She later sued the store in the small claims court and The Staten Island Judge appalled by the stores refusal to pay the medical bills awarded her $5000. The parents of all these puppies live in tiny cages for breeding purposes only. They are never walked and receive no medical attention. All the parents cant even walk as they are never let out of these tiny cages. Once they cannot breed anymore they are discarded and killed. Tell all your friends and families about this store and spread the word. |
Good pups, poor (clueless) managementI am quite happy with my puppy, but am not happy with the service we received from Puppy Boutique (or whatever other name you refer to it as, since it's registered to 10 names online). I must first mention that the people running the place are no more than middle-men and are far from professional pet experts. To be totally blunt, the people running the place are total jacka$$es for conveying the misinformation in their puppy care instructions. Take whatever they advise with a grain of salt--see your vet first (I wouldnt see the vets they recommend, do your research and find a refutable pet MD). They also tell you one price on the phone and another when you get there. You can tell them you were told one price and you want to purchase for that price. They're fairly understanding as far as that goes--at least they were for us. Regardless of the experiences you are reading on here, they have many very healthy dogs. You have to understand, someone with a positive experience is less likely to write a review compared to someone with a negative. My girlfriend and I purchased a Maltese for $1600. We went to a family member who is a highly respected Veterinarian in the Philadelphia suburbs. Our pup received a clean bill of health, but needed to be dewormed only 2 days after we received her. The Boutique told us she was dewormed, and had the records to prove it. However, the dewormer treatment was not administered properly. Dewormers must be given on a very strict schedule--first dose must be given for three days, each day same time or within ~1 hour of previous day's dose. The second must be given at 14 days, as the first kills the worms and not the worm eggs. The boutique records even show the dewormer was given 10 days apart--an absolutely inadequate administer schedule. MAKE SURE YOU DEWORM YOUR PUP!!! The vet also STRONGLY advised against their ludicrous recommendations. Their "shotgun" approach, prescribing a plethora of meds without symptoms is unethical in my opinion. I guess they figure administering these treatments will prevent any potential risk of illness--which, by the way any time you buy a pup from such an establishment, your pup is likely to contract some type of illness (kennel cough is common). The vitamins they give are also garbage, don't even waste your time trying to force this crap on your pup. Additionally, their recommendations for giving your pup nutri-cal 3x a day is totally unnecessary! This should only be used as a last resort if your pup won't eat her puppy food, in which case she could go into hypoglycemic shock. Don't be alarmed by their whole hypoglycemia spiel either. We were scared $hitless when we read that! As long as your dog eats her food, you really have no reason to worry. I'm sure your vet (if refutable) will advise the same. Did our pup come from a puppy mill??--YES, she came from one, but that doesn't bother me one bit. Call me heartless, but the truth is most pups sold this way come from puppy mills. Don't buy the whole "Missouri Breeder" bs they try to sell you. It's a Missouri puppy mill. Most importantly, throw out that garbage food they give you! Make sure you give your dog good food, like Purina or the Rolls-Royce brand--Royal Canin (Puppy 33). Royal Canin is the absolute best, and you'll be able to tell this when you see the stool your dog produces along with your pup's overall disposition. They recommend Eukanuba, which contains chemicals that can harm your dog (Ethoxyquin). Steer clear of dog foods that contain chemicals to enhance the shelf life of the food. Wouldn't you rather spend the extra couple of dollars to prolong the shelf life of your pup? Also, don't give your pup lunchmeat as they advise. The health of a dog should rely solely on good nutrition--FROM DOG FOOD, NOT PRESERVATIVE FILLED LUNCHMEAT! Overall, we couldn't be happier with our pup. Exploit Puppy Boutique's benefits like they exploit you and get yourself a beautiful little puppy! I assure you, although you won't be happy with the boutique, you'll certainly be happy with a new addition to your family, a beautiful little pup!. --AND THROW THAT GD PUPPY CARE SHEET IN THE GARBAGE! SEE YOUR VET FOR PROPER PUPPY CARE AND ADVISEMENT! Hope that helped. |
