“The descriptions below are exerpts taken directly from their website's About Us page: "SaveKitty Foundation is an all-volunteer group of rescuers in Queens, NY, dedicated to helping animals in the five boroughs of New York City. We are a non-profit (501c3) organization that is funded almost entirely by private donations." "Our mission at SaveKitty Foundation is to: Spay/neuter stray and feral cats in the NYC area as the most humane solution to the stray cat problem. Rescue and find homes for friendly stray cats and kittens Manage feral cat colonies and provide support for others to do the same Assist rescuers and others who need help in implementing TNR in their local neighborhoods by providing traps, education in TNR techniques, access to low or no-cost spay/neuter services available in NYC, and transportation to those facilities." "We are not a shelter. The cats that we have for adoption are cared for in our homes. All of our cats have been de-wormed, de-flea'd, tested for FIV/FELV, and have at least had their initial vaccinations. They are always spayed or neutered prior to adoption -- even kittens as young as 8 weeks. (Spaying at a young age IS safe, according to the latest veterinary protocol.)" Save Kitty is Awesome!

I can tell you first hand, this is a wonderful organization that saves a lot of local cats, and helps to find them homes. The volunteers and foster owners really love cats, and it shows in their caring and dedication. If you live in or around Queens, and are looking to adopt, don't hesitate to look into Save Kitty!
