For years the Liberty Humane Society has given homeless cats and dogs a chance to be adopted into loving homes. In a partnership with the City of Jersey City, under the auspices of the Mayor and City Council, the LHS took over management of the Jersey Animal Shelter. We are working with the city to raise funds to build a state-of-the-art facility. The Liberty Humane Society has partnered with the City of Jersey City to build a new, state-of-the-art animal shelter on city-owned land located in Liberty State Park. The facility is a converted garage, sorely in need of renovation and expansion.

Come to the Liberty Humane Society's 4th Annual -"Bark in the Park" - Dog Walk and Fair On Sunday, October 21, from 11:00am - 3:00pm at Liberty State Park, South Field in Jersey City. Take part in the two - mile dog walk, wander down Adoption Alley and meet some adoptable dogs or dress up your pooch for the canine costume contest.
