The shelter is wholly operated by the Friends of the Manchester Animal Shelter (FMAS), a non-profit organization comprised almost entirely of volunteers.
The shelter serves the community by taking in stray and homeless animals, providing them with medical treatment, food, and shelter, and then making them available for adoption to the general public. The process is never ending as each year nearly 1,000 cats and 300+ dogs find their way to our door.
