NHHS cares for over 2,000 homeless pets that arrive annually. These animals are stray, abandoned, abused and neglected. In addition to cats and dogs, we also receive and place rabbits, hamsters,guinea pigs and various other animals. Over 90 communities use our services, while police and animal control officers from nearly 23 towns contract with us to take care of their stray or lost animals. We are highly successful in placing animals in new homes, giving hundreds of them a second chance at life. We provide both adoption services and counseling to prospective onweners and members of our communities. We also provide lost and found services, cruelty investigations, outreach programs,membership programs, and volunteer programs.

Campgrounds 719 Main Street Laconia, NH 03246 Dogs of all sizes are allowed. There are no additional pet fees. Dogs may not be left unattended, and they must be quiet, leashed, and cleaned up after. Dogs are allowed on most trails in the forest. There is a trail map that can be ordered ahead or at seen at the entrances of the park. Since there is private and state owned land, where dogs are not allowed, in the park, they request adherence to the map. There are 22 campgrounds in this national forest. The camping and tent areas also allow dogs. There is a dog walk area at the campground. There are no electric or water hookups at the campground.
