sadness

they are a kill shelter and sometimes will not notify you if you give them an animal you can no longer take care of if they had to put them down.

Adopted from HSHV on 1/7/08

Allie was adopted from the Humane Society of Huron Valley on 1/7/08. Allie (whose name at the shelter was Olisa) had been found as a stray in October 2007. The shelter took care of her and put her in foster care for several months. They gave her medical care for ear mites, all her vaccines, her spay, and even gave her a microchip before we left on adoption day. HSHV took great care of Allie, and they really care about their animals. THANK YOU to them for taking such great care of Allie!

adoption "tail"

I recently adopted Abby from the Humane Society of Huron Valley. I visited the shelter several times before adopting, and I was most impressed. The staff were well-trained and very knowledgeable about all the animals. They cared for them as if they were their own. I mostly looked at the dogs/puppies, and they were all very healthy-looking and seemingly well-behaved and "normal". The shelter has a big dog run area, as well as several enclosed areas for the dogs to run without a leash. The facilities themselves could use a little work, but their website gives details about beginning funding for a re-build. Overall, a great experience adopting from them.
