“park with leash free areas for dogs”
Awesome! We love this place, we visit every Tuesday morning for a hike or a run! The best part is that on hot days, there are trails you can follow right around the pond, and your pooch can just hop in to cool off the whole visit! |
Great Brook State FarmThis place is awesome..... It is leash free as long as your dog is under voice control, except in the parking lot and fimmediate farm area. There are plenty of trails for all those doggies who just need to get out and run around. Plus, there are many streams & ponds to go doggie dipping in to cool off in the summertime after a hard romp through the woods. Everytime we go, we take a different path and have a great time with our 2 dogs. Its great for humans as well. There are bikers, walkers & runners, many with their pups in tow. But, if your dog is leery of horses, maybe keep the leash on at first. We usually go in the AM hours and there are not too many horses out yet. This farm is one of the last working dairy farms in this area of Massachusetts, so humans can go visit the farm and petting zoo as well. Also, there is an ice cream stand in the summer for those humans who need refreshment after a long hot doggie play session. Note: there is 2$ daily parking fee or you can purchase a year round pass at the website or at the park rangers office. posted: August 9th, 2007 |
