Rescue Organizations PO Box 120788 Boston, MA 02112 Greyhound Rescue
Rescue Organizations PO Box 120788 Boston, MA 02112 Greyhound Welfare is a greyhound rescue and placement group. We place ex-racing greyhounds throughout the metropolitan Washington DC area, which means most of MD, VA and DC. Our goal is to make excellent placements, even if that means fewer placements.
Rescue Organizations PO Box 120788 Boston, MA 02112 Greyhound Welfare is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of ex-racing greyhounds. We operate and place dogs in two primary areas, the "Mid-Atlantic," which includes DC, MD, VA, WV, and parts of PA, and in "New England," which includes MA, RI and NH.
Our dogs are housed in foster homes, not in kennels. Foster parents teach them how to start to adjust to life in the world outside race tracks. We help them learn to be housebroken, to get along with all breeds of dogs, and basically socialize them to anything and everything we can! For the most part, this does help their transition into an adoptive home quite a bit.
Our dogs can be visited in their foster homes, and our adopters can speak with the dog's fosters to learn about the dog. We encourage visiting potential dogs before an adopter makes a decision -- and your dogs are welcome to visit too! To keep things sane for our foster homes, we limit visitation to approved adopters. If you are interested in any of our dogs, or in working with us, apply today!
