“The Miami County Humane Society is made up of a network of volunteers who take in abandonded and unwanted pets. They work together with places like PetSmart to get the animals adopted out into loving forever homes. ”
Caring peopleOur family has had to use the services of the MCHS once when we found a kitten that had been thrown from a car into the yard. It did take us calling a few veterinarian offices in order to get the phone number. We didn't understand why at first, but when we took the kitten out we did. It is made up of volunteers who take the animals into their homes, and the lady that runs it has to use her home phone number. While we wish the county would appropriate funds to build an actual Humane Society, these families are the next best thing. The lady I met the day I took the kitten in was very friendly and inviting. She was fostering a few other cats and dogs at the time and I was greeted by a lot of happy wagging tails and curious looks from the cats. I left knowing the kitten was in a safe place and that he would no doubt be adopted very soon. |
