Daubenspeck Community Nature Park is a rare, green-space haven
of approximately 22 acres at 8900 Ditch Road in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Year round, you can enjoy a peaceful walk on the grass trail through
restored tall native prairie grasses and wildflowers. Educational signs

The NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION
DCNP is not a city park or private park. It is 100% volunteer-run as a
non-profit organization. The mission is for "community and nature to
enhance each other" through education, enjoyment, habitat, environ-
mental benefits, civic opportunities, and more. The organization is led
by a board of directors. DCNP Inc. is a charitable non-profit (IRS
501-C-3) funded by individual donations, corporate support, and
grants. Donations are tax-deductible.
Who owns the land?
The open fifteen acres (now the prairie) was a farm field donated for
public use by the Daubenspeck family more than 50 years ago. The
Metropolitan School District of Washington Township owns it and
leases it to DCNP in a unique public/non-profit/community partnership.
The 8-acre woods to the north is owned by the neighboring North
Willow Farms Homeowners Association, which also leases it to DCNP
as a management partnership.
