WHO WE ARE Based out of Broward County and serving the Tri-County area, Get-A-Life Pet Rescue saves pets who have been abandoned and provide them with a chance at the life they deserve. Our animals come to us through Animal Services and as owner surrenders and orphaned strays. Our Volunteers and Board Members both play an active role in finding safe and happy homes for our rescued animals. All pets in our care are given a full veterinary exam. They are vaccinated, spayed/neutered, microchipped, put on heartworm/flea & tick prevention medication, and given dental & grooming services as needed. Donations are very critical to us, as they assist us in first, rescuing these pets, and second, in giving each pet full medical treatment, physical and behavioral rehabilitation, and the necessities that allow each rescue to thrive. Because Get-A-Life Pet Rescue doesn’t have a facility in which to house pets as they are rescued, each pet is matched with an appropriate foster home in the Tri-County area. Through the individual foster homes, we are able to provide interested applicants with details on each pet's personality and provide a needs list to allow the pet a smooth transition "From Foster Care to Forever Family!" Our volunteers promote responsible pet ownership and lifelong relationships with each adopter and his/her new pet. We educate all adopters and provide them with the tools necessary for a balanced and happy pet -- and a lifelong relationship with their new family member. Our ultimate goal at Get-A-Life Pet Rescue is to increase compassion through education, resulting in the humane treatment of animals, and the reduction of the tragic overpopulation and pet abuse problems of today. We need your help to do this very important work, so thank you. We are very grateful for your support, and we are very happy that you've chosen a Rescued Pet Adoption as the only New Pet Option!
