There's plenty of room to run in large grassy fields, and nice trail through the woods. I've never had a problem with chansey being off-leash, most dogs there are! i just make sure she doesn't bug anyone else. They're got a nice rain garden and picnic pavillions, and ample parking.

Unlike a tradition dog kennel, we offer Newark and Wilmington dog boarding and daycare with a social play all day environment. Dogs are separated into indoor / outdoor play areas based on their size, temperament and play styles where they socialize and play all day. We keep a high staff to dog ratio and have web cams so you can watch your dog play while you are away. Boarding dogs are only in their cabins for meals and bedtime. At night, they are tucked in with a treat and soothing music. The cabins are large and come complete with cots and comfy bedding.

We love our Home Buddies sitters. We adopted a Great Dane in early August and she gets too excited around other dogs right now (but we're working in that!).
The Home Buddies program has been perfect for us and our new addition. They have allowed us to go away for a night or take a day trip without worrying about her feeding times and potty breaks, or leaving her home alone overnight.
Some of our appointments have even been last minute emergencies and they were able to accommodate us!
We love the personalized notes and reports that the sitters leave so that we know that they arrived, and that our doggie was well behaved for them. I'm so happy that we found this service!

A great place to take your pooch to run free!! No fences here, but it is far removed from traffic and is surrounded by thick brush and vegetation. It's right on the pond, so be prepared to get muddy. You can find maps to it at the park's main office, or if you're coming from 896, just pass the main entrance, and continue for about 2 miles, and turn right at the "Hayride Staging Area" sign, and continue to the end of the street and make a left into the parking lot. Good luck, and HAVE FUN!!

The Campground is cool, especially the primitive sites. Dogs are allowed on a leash, but when we go very early in the season, there's no one else there, so all leash laws go out the window!! Pretty cool trails, and the water park is only $2. To make a reservation at the campground which is open year round, call (302) 284-3412. You can't have a dog at the cabins, so keep that in mind!!

There's South and North Bowers. I like North Bowers, because there isn't any mud; it's all sand. You go north on rt 1 towards Dover, and it's the intersection before the turn-off to Magnolia. There's a sign for it, so it's not too hard to find. Turn right, and drive for about 5 miles, and then, once you're in the town of Bower's Beach, turn right into the Parks and Rec mrked parking lot, and then walk down the path onto the beach. We're usually off-leash, unless there are a lot of sun-bathers. south bowers is about 5 miles south of this intersection, and there is also a sign. this beach is more remote, even though they are actually only separated by a river! don't get stuck in the mud, though!!! For better directions, call 302-382-9134... I'll get you there!

You can bring your doggie with you, and on the Twin Capes Ferry, they can go inside on the levels where there isn't food served. The Twin Capes only sails in the summer, so call ahead to check the availability of this particular ferry boat. Otherwise, you could be stuck outside with your pup the whole trip, unless you bring your car, too. On the other side, it's an hour drive to Atlantic City, NJ.
