You will be in awe when you walk up to the memorial and see Abraham Lincoln sitting in his chair. If you are seeking inspiration, hope and peace...please go. Walk around the memorial, soak in the emotion that surrounds this place. Bring a book or lunch for you and your pooch. Watch the emotion on all who come. It is a tranquil place to walk your dog around the tidal basin. According to the National Park Service, well behaved, leashed dogs are allowed at the memorial except underneath the dome. This allows a pretty close view of the statue for your pup.
