“ Divine Feline is a not-for-profit organization involved in the trap, neuter, and release of feral cats in Colorado. The organization was established by Colorado Veterinarians, Dr. Susanna Russo and Dr. Erica Rambus, in April 2003 for the purpose of controlling the feral cat population, estimated at over 150,000 in the Denver Metro area. ”
Divine FelineWhen RMACA receives calls for help with large feral cat colonies (10+ cats), we schedule the mobile clinic to go directly to the scene. The clinic will show up on the specified date with veterinarian Dr. Erica Rambus, a vet technician and an experienced trapper. We trap the cats and bring them directly into the mobile clinic. Dr. Rambus will provide FIV/FeLV testing, spay/neuter, and FVRCP/rabies vaccinations for all feral cats. We hold all feral and unowned cats overnight to ensure that they come out of surgery safely, and then release them back to their home territories the following day. This service is provided at no charge to the public, although we greatly appreciate donations! If you are interested in having the clinic come to a specific location, please call us at 303-623-0765 and select Option 2. Please keep in mind: we only run the clinic Mondays and Tuesdays from 9am-3pm. The cats must have a guaranteed food source (i.e., someone must be feeding/willing to continue feeding them on a regular basis). The cats need to be on a morning feeding schedule (when you call we can chat with you about the details). And finally, we really try to reserve the clinic for colonies of 10 or more cats (but if there are only 8 or 9, we might be able to squeeze you in). |
