The best vet I've seen

I can't express enough the importance of having an all-cat clinic as family vet. We all know how different, correction--SUPERIOR, we cats are to d-o-g-s. Not only do cat-only vets specialize in feline medicine, their staffs also specialize in handling cats. They know how to comfort us in the most stressful situation.

Now, about this All About Cats clinic:

The VET—Dr.Liz
I was tested FIV+ at the wellness check after my staffs adopted me. Within a month, I had several medical emergencies and scares. At that time I was a newbie at All About Cats but Dr.Liz has never failed to answer our call for help within 5 minutes, be it 5 o'clock in the morning or 12 o'clock at night. Not only that, she called a few times a day to check up on me when I was resting at home with a fever. Every time I went to see her for a medical condition, she'd call to see if I was doing better a couple of days later. My staffs said they wish human family doctors would be as attentive and responsible as Dr.Liz.

What I should also mention is how open-minded Dr.Liz is toward alternative medicine. She is a strong believer of traditional medicine but she is willing to work with any treatment method in order to reach our common goal—keep the FIV virus in my body dormant for as long as possible. After 17 months of both traditional medicine care and homeopathic treatment, I was tested FIV negative in May, 2007. Without Dr.Liz’s support this wouldn’t have happened.

The STAFF
When my staffs first adopted me my staff were paranoid because of my FIV+ condition. That resulted in visits to numerous vets and numerous times. Only at All About Cats I feel at ease. Dr.Liz and her staffs are expert at handling cats. I become a complete “wuss” in front of them. I’d let them do ANYTHING to me without even making a sound. Sometimes after they’re done I give them headbunts for “playing” with me. I learned lately that their trick is to “confuse” me with rubbing, massaging, and sweet-talking. They’re completely laid-back and relax in front of me. Never once I’ve seen them make a sudden move in front of a patient to alert him/her. Dr.Liz and her staff give me the impression that they love cats so much that they can’t seem to keep their hands off me!

The CLINIC
My staffs found All About Cats (http://www.allaboutcats.ca/index.htm) on the internet. The fuzzy feelings you get from their website reflects exactly how you’d feel in the clinic. The place is welcoming, clean, and cozy. The two resident cats are laid-back, friendly, and a little flirty in the morning. The staffs are friendly, especially to cats, and professional. We’ve never encountered administration errors some other clinics would make, e.g. mixed up appointment time and date. We never had to wait for long to see Dr.Liz, either. Dr.Liz runs this clinic not only with love, but also with a very professional mindset. She has a clear vision of how a veterinary clinic should be and she makes sure this philosophy is followed at her clinic.

I’ll wrap my long review up with just one sentence—my staffs and I are grateful that we are blessed with a vet and clinic that we can trust my life to.
