“Hendry's Beach at Cliff Drive and Las Positas is an off leash dog park with trash cans and doggie poop bags readily available. You can walk a loop of that beach heading south, go up the steps at Mesa Lane Beach and find yourself at the top of the bluffs on the Wilcox Property (AKA Douglas Preserve) which is also off leash friendly, with trash cans and poop bags available. the Wilcox Property/Douglas Preserve is a series of trails along the clifftop bluffs with 180 degree ocean views. ”
Hendry's (Arroyo Burro) BeachThis IS the best beach in Santa Barbara to walk your dog on! Plenty of sand, waves, sunshine and poop bags and plenty of dogs to meet and play with. Bring a ball chucker or frisbee to add to the excitement. Parking is sometimes a problem so be prepared to walk a little bit to get to the beach. |
Go early or lateGo early or late to truly enjoy the area and have fun. Can be too populated later in the day and some owners are less dog saavvy then others as are their dogs. Be careful around the Cliff area of Douglas Preserve- we always leash up at that section. |
Great FunAlthough a little too crowded at times, if you go early in the morning it's a great place to romp off-leash. |
