Can you say Puppy Mill?

Andy's (aka Animal Habitat LLC) more than reeks of puppy mill. My partner and I were naive enough to purchase a dog from Andy's after one of the owners assured us that he only went to "top breeders" from out of state because he didn't want to go to backyard breeders and puppy mills. Through research on my dog's breeder's name, I found out that my dog came from a "breeder" by the name of David Hershberger in Millersburg, Ohio. When I Googled his name, he came up on animal cruelty sites as a seller at the Buckeye Dog Auction in Millersburg, Ohio (see http://www.thepetition...) (see also http://www.youtube.com...). My dog went from the breeder to Hunte Corporation in Missouri, the nation's largest dog broker. Hunte Corporation is a supplier of animals overseas and to some of the worst pet stores in the country (see http://www.helpinganim...). According to a representative of Hunte, they're not sure if my dog was delivered or if they picked her up on one of their "pick up days" where they send trucks to the different areas of Pennsylvania, Ohio and Missouri to pick up puppies from high-density breeders. I can't say for sure that David Hershberger is a puppy mill breeder. What I can say is that Millersburg, Ohio has a substantial number of puppy mills and within its city limits allows the Buckeye Dog Auction to operate. Google "David Hershberger", "Amish Puppy Mills" and "Buckeye Dog Auctions" and read the results. According to Andy's website they "are a family owned business that respectively researches all of our pet breeders to find pet quality. We guarantee the highest level of breeding is done by our breeders" (see http://www.animalhabit...). Watch the videos, read the online literature and decide for yourself if it's worth buying that bag of dog food at Andy's.

Good

If you have exotic birds that's a good place to go.
