“Bark to Basics is owned and operated by Shura Kelly, an SF SPCA Certified Trainer and Behavior Counselor with extensive background in the training and handling of all types of canines, from Maltese to Mastiff. In addition to individual one-on-one training and behavior modification for all dogs, big and little, Bark to Basics offers an exclusive daycare program for dogs 20 pounds and under. Having seen first-hand how easily the training issues of tiny dogs can escape notice when they are in a mixed-size group, and having witnessed also the very real phenomenon of predatory drift, Shura was aware of the safety risks of running big dogs along with the little ones. She decided she needed to create a place just for little dogs; a place where they would be free to become socialized and well mannered in an environment conducive to their distinct needs. We love daycare!Lulu and I have been going to Bark to Basics for about 6 months now and we love it! Since we're both little and big dogs scare us sometimes, we appreciate being somewhere that all our doggie pals are our size! The yard and the indoor room have everything we need for fun as well as for resting and snuggling. |
