“Esprit Park is hidden 1 square city block park in San Francisco's Dog Patch neighborhood. The park recently went through major renovations and is in good shape. After the renovations the city expected it to be a no dog park, but residents had long come to enjoy it as a dog run, so an agreement was reached between ALL neighbors and SF Parks Dept. The north half of the park allows for an off-leash dog play. The south side is on-leash. Out of respect for the neighbors without dogs that allowed for the dog run area, please keep all extended dog play to the north half as this will best ensure the SF Park Dept. acceptance of any off-leash area will continue.”

A great neighborhood park

While not the kind of dog park you go out of your way to get to, it's great for the neighborhood and always worth a stop if you're ever near. Just be sure to go off-leash on the north side. The non-dog neighbors were very generous in allowing the policy change even though the city wanted to keep it all leash-only. It's sunniest from 10am until 4pm.
