“Off-leash regional park. Here's a dogs review: http://tinyurl.com/yrqcqt”
good old Sibleythis is my secret spot - there is nothing secret about it, since it can be busy at times. But I feel home when I am there. The trails are easy to find since there are not many of them :o) It is pretty much a round trip - except you want to follow the Bay Trail. Sibley has lots to offer - wonderful birds, rattle snakes and gopher snakes - make sure your dogs respect their "privacy". There are wild cats, usually the smaller ones, the view is incredible and you will find very nice maces you can walk as a meditation. There is water and bathrooms and enough parking. It is a busy dog place depending on the time of day. It is never really hot and people are nice. The walks a easy and depending on your condition can be somewhat challenging here and there. The trails are rocky and gravely here and there. Nevertheless - we managed to take my friend in her wheelchair. Oh boy.. afterwards we took a loooong brake ;o) Have fun and check www.ebparks.org for more info and maps. Best wishes. |
All Weather Options!Several trail heads make this park fun to discover with trail options ranging from easy to strenuous. The trails that lead into the canyons are great on hot days when you need some shade. The volcanic ridge trail is wonderful on moderate days (can be muddy). Make sure to pick up a trail map at the Visitor's Center so you don't end up on the creek side of Huckleberry! 1 pet found this review helpful |
Unofficial dog parkThe East Bay Regional Park system allows dogs off leash in "undeveloped areas" (i.e. off paved trails and away from picnic areas) in virtually all of its parks. Sibley, by virtue of being almost completely undeveloped, allows dogs off leash throughout and thus has become a favorite for people with dogs. In addition, the park has spectacular 360 degree views from the ridgeline and people have made labyrinths in several locations, adding interest for human visitors. 1 pet found this review helpful |
